Weather you're planning on wearing the Hijab in the future, or already wear one but need a little motivation to continue to do so, I hope that this post helps you with your Hijab journey. If you currently wear a Hijab and are as comfortable and motivated as can be, Mash’Allah, you’re very blessed to be at that level!

With the negativity in the world regarding Muslims, it can be a little overwhelming to continue to feel as motivated to wear the Hijab. Don’t feel bad. It takes a lot of strength to continue with as much confidence when the world is constantly throwing negative views your way. But, you must not forget to open your eyes to those who embrace Hijab and find it beautiful.

I hope that the following tips can help you gain back your confidence or give you the confidence to embrace it one day, Insha’Allah.

1. Rethink Your Intentions
Why did you start wearing the Hijab? Why do you want to start wearing the Hijab? Is it to please your parents? To please another person? If you're wearing the Hijab to please anyone other than Allah, it will become a lot more difficult for you to continue wearing it. On the other hand, if you're wearing it for Allah and only Allah, you can remind yourself of this. Remind yourself that your purpose for wearing the Hijab is solely to please your Creator. With this in mind, it will become a lot easier for you to keep it on, since you know full well that as a Muslim, your goal in life is to please your Creator. However, if you try to wear it for someone else, you will be more inclined to take it off when your views regarding that person change. So the first step is to rethink your reasoning behind wearing the Hijab, and Insha'Allah it's only to please Allah.

2. Pray for Guidance
It can be overwhelming living in a country, going to a school, or working in a place where your peers don't embrace Hijab with open arms. Remember, whatever strength we have to overcome any obstacle in our lives, is only through prayer. So pray to Allah to give you the strength to continue wearing the Hijab. Pray for courage to face those who are against Hijab with confidence. Insha'Allah your prayers will bring you peace of mind and all the strength you need to wear the Hijab.

3. Experiment with Patterns/Colours
Wearing the Hijab doesn't have to be boring. Experiment with different patterns and colours to find what you like best. Having a few favourite Hijabs, that you know you can count on when you're having a 'Bad Hijab Day' is a total life saver! So experiment until you find something you love! Trust me, sometimes wearing a certain Hijab can make you feel 10x more confident.

4. Inspiring Women
Look in the media, there's so many amazing women who have accomplished so much while wearing the Hijab. Look to them for inspiration. Ibtihaj Muhammad, a Muslim-American fencer in the Rio 2016 Olympics, has recently become an inspiration, along with many others.

Remind yourself, that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to, and a Hijab won't put a limit on it.

Insha'Allah, these little tips can help you regain your motivation and confidence while wearing the Hijab.

1. Pray Your Salat
The importance of Salat has been emphasized in the Qur'an countless times. Allah has stressed that Muslims offer Salat regularly in order to achieve the benefits that come with it.

  • Gain Nearness to Allah: With prayer, we can develop a bond with our Creator and learn to pray to thank Allah and seek help during difficult times.
  • Taqwa: Piety or righteousness is achieved through Salat. This is because Salat keeps us away from wrongdoing, ensuring that we learn to do what's right in order to please Allah.
  • Reward in the Hereafter: The Prophet (pbuh) said, "The first thing the people will be accountable for on the Day of Judgement is prayer, Allah will say to His angels: "Look at my servants prayers. Were they complete or not?" If they were complete It will be written as complete. If they were not fully complete Allah will say: "See if my servant has voluntary prayers, If he has them Allah will Say: Complete his obligatory prayers shortage with his voluntary prayers." Then the rest of his deeds will be dealt with in the same manner", (Reported by Abu Dawood).
  • Protection from Satan: Satan is an enemy of the believers and tries to stray them from their path of righteousness. Not offering prayer is actually a sign of us following Satan, whereas those who offer prayer are resisting temptation from Satan.
Thus, if we don't pray, we are not preparing ourselves for the first question Allah will ask us on the Day of Judgement. Also, we are missing out on the benefits that Salat has on us in this life.

2. Stay in a State of Wudu
It has been related in a narration from Ibn Umar that the Prophet (pbuh) said: "Whoever performs Wudu while in a state of purity, Allah writes for him on account of it ten good merits". (Tirmidhi)

Moreover, the Prophet (pbuh) said, "When any of you sleeps, Satan ties three knots at the back of his  neck. He recites the incantation at every knot: 'You have a long night, so sleep.' If he awakes and remembers Allah, one knot is loosened. If he performs Wudu' the (second) knot is loosened; and if he performs prayer, (all) knots are loosened. He begins his morning in a happy  and refreshed mood; otherwise, he gets up in bad spirits and sluggish state". (Narrated by Abu Huraira - Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Thus, it is important that we not only remain in a state of Wudu so we can pray whenever we need to and remain clean. But also, to please Allah and gain blessings from our purified state.

3. Fast
Since it is Ramadan right now, you are probably aware of the commandment of fasting and why it is important to us as Muslims. If not, you can read my post by clicking here.

It is narrated by Abu Huraira that the Prophet (pbuh) said that Allah said, "Every good deed of Adam's son is for him except fasting, it is for Me, and I shall reward (the fasting person) for it.' Verily, the smell of the mouth of a fasting person is better to Allah than the smell of musk".

While fasting, we are in a state of remembering Allah, and doing something to please no one but Allah. Allah will reward us for fasting, and so it is important to fast regularly.

4. Perform Good Deeds
Allah says in the Holy Qur'an, "Verily, those who believe and do good works - surely, We suffer not the reward of those who do good works to be lost. It is these who will have Gardens of Eternity beneath which streams shall flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, reclining therein upon raised couches. How good the reward and how excellent the place of rest!" (Holy Qu'rna 18:31-32).

And so, it is important that we do good deeds in this world, in order to impact the lives of those less around us, and making the world a better place. But also, to gain Allah's pleasure.

5. Make Istighfar
All of us have shortcomings. All of us have done something which displeased please Allah. This is okay. We were made humans, not angels. BUT, we must ask Allah for forgiveness many times a day. We don't want to die having displeased Allah and not seeking forgiveness for it.

In the Holy Qur'an, Istighfar is seen as drawing the strength and support of Allah which leads to attaining nearness to Allah and salvation. The Holy Qur'an states:
But surely the righteous will be in the midst of gardens and springs, receiving what the Lord will give them; for they used to do good before that. They used to sleep but a little of the night; and at the dawn of the day they sought forgiveness...[51:16-19]

If you want to know more about Istighfar click here.

We must always think about death, as it is our short time in this world that will determine what happens in the Hereafter. May we all make ourselves better individuals and better Muslims who will please Allah with our actions and character, Ameen!

The atmosphere and environment of the home that you and your family spend long hours of the day and night in, can greatly influence your behaviour, habits, and family life. A stress-filled home with little remembrance of Allah is neither good for you or your family/kids. Remembering Allah during the day and night is something that we are reminded to do in the Qur'an:

To ensure that we are abiding by Allah's command, and not letting the things of this world divert our attention from Him, it is important to create a home where the remembrance of Allah and His people is given great importance.

Below are 5 simple ways to remember Allah throughout the day and create a peaceful, spiritually bliss home:

1. Designated Worship Room/Area:

Many of our homes are filled with pictures, wall-art, TVs and other distractions. Thus, setting aside a room/area of the home that has none of these distractions, rather access to the material needed to worship and remember Allah (i.e. a Prayer mat, Qur'an), is a great way to stay focused while praying or reading the Qur'an. Moreover, passing by this room/area can serve as a reminder to pray and remember Allah.

2. Islamic Library:

In the Holy Qur'an, Allah has commanded us to constantly seek knowledge. As well, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) advised us to:
'Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave'.
The only way to do this, is to have access to the resources needed for attaining this knowledge within our reach. Nowadays, so many Islamic books are available online (i.e. ebooks), and so having a hard copy is not necessary. However,  having hard copies of a few key books (i.e. prayer books, commentaries of the Qur'an, etc.) is a good idea. The attention and focus you will have on a book that's in your hand, will far exceed an electronic copy, due to several other distractions. It's also a good way to rest your eyes and write notes on the books to better understand the content. Also, if you have young children, having kids Islamic books on these shelves will teach them how to rely on these books for knowledge. Reading these books will help you gain knowledge on living a better life.

3. Written Reminders:

More often than not, we know the words to many prayers along with when they should be recited. However, we sometimes forget to recite them due to the distractions in our homes. Pasting prayers around your house is a great way to remind yourself when a prayer should be recited. By pasting them on doors, mirrors etc. you are not only reminding yourself, but also your children to remember Allah. Moreover, reading/seeing these prayers everyday will help you and your kids memorize them, if you haven't already.

4. Get Rid of Negative Noise:

Nowadays, every home has a television, laptop/tablet, and phone. Sometimes, it is important to set these aside. Turn off your drama's, music, etc. so that you and your children can communicate, and not take in the negativity that comes with these noises (i.e. swearing, vulgarity etc.).  Silence will not only let you think and be at peace with yourself, but it's also a great way to clear your mind. A substitute to the dramas/music are: Islamic podcasts, poetry, the recitation of the Holy Qur'an etc. all of which ease your stress, and create a peaceful vibe at home.

5. Lead By Example:

With all of the above said, it is very important to live by example. Read your prayers on time, recite the Qur'an, constantly pray to Allah, stay calm, don't raise your voice, etc.  By keeping yourself absorbed in the remembrance of Allah, and living your life following Allah's commands, you will be a role model for your parents, siblings, spouse and children. On the other hand, if you listen to foul music, watch inappropriate TV shows, yell, never remember Allah, and remain stressed, your home will never attain peace. As the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Each of you is a sheperd, and each of you is responsible for his flock...A man is a sheperd in charge of the inhabitants of his household and he is responsible for his flock; a women is a sheperdess in charge  of her husband's house and children and she is responsible for them..."
Remember, it was narrated by Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa'eed that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said
"No people sit in a gathering remembering Allah, But the angels surround them, mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them and Allah remembers them before those who are with Him."
So remember Allah along with your loved ones so that your home can be surrounded by angels and always be at peace.

It is important to eat and drink right during Sehri (Suhoor), in order to survive the long and hot summer fasts. Sehri is an important part of keeping a fast, and thus should not be skipped.

It is important to indulge in a hydrating and nourishing Sehri to give our bodies the strength to make it through the fast. Unfortunately, many people are starting to skip Sehri in order to sleep in longer. However, doing this, they are missing out on the rewards and blessings that come with this important part of keeping a fast.

Be sure to include fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy.

Here are some quick and easy options:

DRINKS

SMOOTHIES/MILKSHAKES
There are so many different options for making a smoothie depending on what you have at home. Personally, I love using frozen berries and spinach in mine!
    • Banana, Strawberry, Peach: granola, nuts, greek yogurt, chia seeds
    • Mixed Berry: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, spinach
    • Mango: mangoes, yogurt, milk, banana
    • Banana-Peanut Butter: bananas, peanut butter, nonfat milk, honey

    FRUIT JUICE
Drinking pure fruit and vegetable juice is a great alternative to water in the morning. It's high in vitamins, that you won't be getting otherwise, due to fasting. You can either buy these pre-made, or make some with a juicer the night before.

INFUSED WATER
If you're someone who enjoys water, you can always infuse it with fruits, in order to drink more. Some great options are:
        • Watermelon & Mint
        • Orange, Lemon & Lime
        • Lime, Kiwi & Strawberry
        • Strawberry, Mint & Lemon

PRE-MADE IDEAS

PROTEIN SHAKE MUFFINS
It can be hard to get protein in during Ramadan. An easy way to include some protein in your Sehri is to make a batch of protein muffins! This is a great snack and easy to prepare ahead of time.

Here are several options.

  • Banana Bread Protein Muffins - for the banana bread lover
  • Cinnamon Role Protein Muffins - for the cinnamon bun lover
  • Chocolate Mocha Protein Muffins - for the brownie lover

OATMEAL
Oatmeal is full of carbohydrates and protein which will boost your energy for the day ahead. It's also full of fibre, calcium and potassium, which is great for the heart! This can also be made the night before, and served cold or warm for Sehri!

Here are several options.

    • Chocolate Peanut Butter
    • Carrot Cake
    • Banana Chocolate Chip
    • Tropical Fruit
    • Strawberry Cheesecake
    • Pumpkin Spice
    • Chocolate Coconut

OMELETTE  MUFFINS
For someone with less of a sweet tooth, omelette muffins are a great way to incorporate eggs and vegetables into Sehri. Here is my recipe for making these:

Serves 12
Ingredients:
  • 12 - 15 eggs
  • ground pepper and salt (to taste)
  • Any toppings you prefer: cheese, green pepper, onion, broccoli, red/green pepper, mushrooms etc.
Steps:
  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Spray your muffin tray or use 12 muffin liners.
  • Finely chop your vegetables.
  • Divide the vegetables evenly (fill 2/3 of the liners)
  • Beat the eggs in a bowl, pour into something with a spout, and pour into the trays (fill 3/4 of the liners).
  • Top off with your favourite spices!
  • Bake 25-35 minutes, until muffins have risen and are slightly brown, and set.
  • Muffins can be refrigerated for no more than a week. Microwave on high for about 45 seconds to one minute before serving. (Egg muffins can be frozen and reheated but I like them better when they are refrigerated. Frozen muffins will release some water when they thaw).

FOOD

BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
This is a quick and easy way to have a filling breakfast full of dairy, protein, vegetables and grains!

BREAKFAST SANDWICHES
You can never go wrong with a quick and easy sandwich! Here is a list of recipes for sandwiches for the meat lovers... or the veggie lovers...and anything in between!

WRAPS
If you enjoy wraps, I have a recipe for you! It consists of salsa, black beans, avocado, corn, and more!

Hopefully these recipes help you decide what to eat for sehri this Ramadan so that you can change it up! It can be hard waking up early to prepare a large sehri, nonetheless, there are some who are willing to do this, and so I've added several recipes for such people. On the other hand, some people wake up a few minutes before Fajr, and for these people I've included several breakfast ideas that can be made in advance and eaten quickly, yet still keep one full throughout the day.

May Allah bless you this Ramadan and forgive your sins, Ameen!

Finals can be hectic and sometimes it may feel as if they will never come to an end. Trust me, I've been there. With 8 midterms for 6 weeks straight, I basically studied every day for 1 month straight. I know how stressful it can be! Finals were no different. So, before finals roll around for secondary school students, I thought I would share a few tips and tricks to help you all make your way through them. These tips are not only for you to be successful in your exams Insha'Allah, but also for you to not lose track of what's important.

1) MAKE A SCHEDULE

I thought this was a fairly normal thing to do, until I talked to some people who thought I was crazy.

"How can you follow a strict schedule?"

I guess being a Muslim, and having to follow a schedule ever single day (the 5 daily prayers) has something to do with it. For real! Prayer has helped me to self discipline myself in terms of what I should do and when I should do it. Keep in mind, your schedule cannot be 'Study from 7AM to Midnight', because you will never be able to stick to such a schedule. Make it realistic, reward yourself, and take breaks!

Start by creating an exam schedule for the entire week/month. For each day, write down the chapters for each course that you want to accomplish. My rule to divide up chapters for each course is as follows: If you have 10 chapters to study, and 5 days until the exam, study 2 chapters a day. Once you have this monthly schedule, you won't have to cram, and you'll know the minimum amount of studying you should get done each day. Once you have this, create a schedule every morning for the day. This should start from the moment you wake up to the time you wish to sleep at. In it, include the hours you will spend studying (with what you intend on studying from the weekly/monthly schedule), breaks, and meal times. This is a simple and effective way to keep your mind at ease, and not have to cram the night before the exam. I always get asked how I continue to make time to eat, sleep and everything in between, while staying on top of studying. Well, this right here is the answer to that!

2) DON'T CRAM

This goes hand-in-hand with what I stated above, scheduling. You've probably heard this a million times before, but cramming does nothing for you. It only leads to stress, and

studying + stress = burnout.

Try to plan out your time so that you start studying far in advance. Make your study load heavier early in the exam season because you will get tired of studying! Having fewer chapters to study closer to the exam date will be a huge weight lifted off your back! Make the day before the exam a review day! Don't spend that day studying the entire course! Remember, it's not about studying hard, it's about studying smart.

3) PRACTICE QUESTIONS & FLASHCARDS

The more times we see something, the better our brain is at remembering it. This is why cramming will not help. You want to study in advance and review everything you've studied already each day. Seeing a definition or concept multiple times will help you remember it way better than if you cram. To do this, flashcards are a great way to go! Flashcards made by hand can work really well, but may take a lot more time if your notes are typed out. I love Quizlet, it's a great way for you to not only make flashcards, but turn those flashcards into multiple choice questions, true and false questions, games and more. It's a great method that I like to use when it comes to formulas and terms - things I need to memorize.

Also, use the resources given to you! Textbooks have a bunch of review questions and you can find so many online! Use these resources so that you can learn to apply what you've studied. Knowing a term is one thing, but comparing that term with similar terms, or knowing how to set it apart from similar terms is what will help you succeed. Nowadays, teachers/professors are no longer testing students on memorization. There's a lot more case questions and such, that require the student to know more than just the definition of words.

4) PUT IN TIME FOR GOD

Sometimes it feels like we don't have enough hours in the day to study, and so it can be quite challenging to make time to pray. However, I assure you, success without prayer is not the right kind of success. Incorporate the prayers into your schedule, start your day off with Fajr and give yourself an early start to your studying. Finally end your day off with Ishaa, and go to sleep. This will really help you get 6-7 hours of sleep! Pray and ask Allah for help! This is not only the best stress reliever, but it's also a good way to force yourself to get up and move. I don't know about you, but when I'm studying, I feel like I sit for hours straight just trying to get information in my head. To prevent your body from getting soar, get up, move a little, and pray. And if you're worried about time still, 5-10 minutes will not harm your studying! Trust me :)

Some little prayers that are helpful for exams are:

رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا

O my Lord! Increase me in knowledge.

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي

O my Lord! Expand me my breast; ease my task for me; and remove the impediment from my speech, so they may understand what I say.
I really hope these little tips help you plan out your finals week (or month) a little better, and I really hope you all succeed! Just remember, try your hardest and don't lose hope, one low mark doesn't ruin your life. Good Luck!

Please share and leave your feedback below, Jazak'Allah!

Happiness - "The state of being happy".
Happy - "Feeling or showing pleasure or contentment".

With this definition in mind, would you consider yourself happy and content?

INSPIRATION
I recently came across a video by Mohamed Zeyara, a humanitarian activist and public speaker.
In it, he talked about his interview of a young orphan. He asked the orphan, "What is the most difficult part of your day?" to which he replied, "Nothing". Confused Mohamed asked the question, "What is the most difficult part about living in an orphanage?" to which the boy replied "Nothing, I don't have any problems". Shocked, Mohamed continued the interview with, "If you had one wish and it would be granted, what would it be?" to which the boy replied, "I would like a Qur'an, the book of the Qur'an, because over here they don't have the physical book Qur'an".

ARE WE HAPPY?
This video got me thinking of the desires of the youth living in developed countries and seeking happiness. When we think about happiness, we constantly desire for more, "If I pass this exam, I will be happy. If I get these shoes, I will be happy. When I get married, I will be happy". But is this what happiness is?

With the definition above it is clear that happiness is current and not dependent on what you have. Are you happy despite what you have and don't have? Those objects shouldn't be your ladder for happiness, and trust me, they never will be! You can't expect to keep getting things and eventually reaching happiness. If this were at all the case, the richest people in the world and the celebrities we see on television would all be happy. They have the money to buy anything they desire, but are they happy?  The answer is clear the majority is not. This is why many rely on drugs and alcohol, cosmetic surgery and more, in order to reach a state of happiness. Despite all of this, a lot of them get trapped in a downward spiral and never truly reach a state of happiness. Now look at the less wealthy, those who have the bare minimum, are they happy? It's shocking to think, but many are. They don't have everything, and they barely have the basic necessities to get by, but they are happy. Now ask yourself, "Am I happy"?

HOW DO WE ACHIEVE HAPPINESS?
If no amount of things will make us happier, what will?

  • Be Grateful: It is said in the Holy Qur'an, "Be grateful to Allah for whoso is grateful, is grateful for the good of his own soul" [31:3]. I remember my mother constantly saying the following phrase to me while growing up, "Stop comparing yourself to the people who have more than you, compare yourself to those who have less than you". It's amazing how such a simple reminder made me a more grateful person. The number of times I have heard, "Why can't I have _____, so-and-so has one?!" But when do we ever hear, "Maybe I don't need ______, there's people without it who are doing just fine". From this point on, promise yourself that you will no longer allow the materialistic possessions of others take away your happiness, because "Comparison is the thief of joy" - Theodore Roosevelt.
  • Spiritual Happiness: "It is they who follow guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper" [Holy Qur'an: 31:6]. Worldly satisfaction is nothing compared to spiritual happiness. The Holy Qur'an is full of instructions on living a life that will please Allah and ultimately grant us Heaven on Earth. Develop a relationship with Allah, only then will you be able to live to please Him and no one else. In a world where everything and everyone is constantly changing, we can never truly be happy.  There will always be new things to spend our money on, and we will always want them. That's the power of marketing and the electronic world we live in. But only with Allah can we find true happiness.
  • Self Purification: No one is perfect. But with this said, we should try to make ourselves better each and every day. We should get rid of all the negative thinking that leads to unhappiness: greed, jealousy, pride, arrogance, envy, and revenge. Instead, we should adapt the qualities of love, justice, patience, and sympathy. Read and understand the Qur'an, read Islamic books, and gain knowledge. Without knowing what is acceptable in Islam and what pleases God, it will be harder to adapt these good qualities and live by them.
With all this said, think of your life from the eyes of the orphan. If asked the question, "What is the most difficult part of your day?" I'm sure many of us would say: going to school, going to work, waking up early, etc. But it's a blessing to not only be alive in the morning, but also to have a bed to wake up in, or job/school to go to. Yet, I'm sure none of us would ever be able to reply to the question with "nothing". What about if we were asked, "If you had one wish, what would it be?" what would your answer be? I'm sure many would say: having a house, a car, paying off debt, having a good job, etc. all of which is nothing but mere materialistic desire. Once you have that one thing, you would always want more. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad to want things, but once you start associating happiness with objects, you can't expect yourself to be happy for very long.

We're blessed to have a Qur'an in our homes, many Qur'an's for some. That, to this child, means the world. We are the owners of this child's dream. Yet so many of us don't even take the time to open the Qur'an, instead it rests on the shelves in our homes gathering dust. Open the Qur'an, read it, and understand it. Through the Qur'an you can attain happiness, not through the things you think will make you happier.

If there's one thing you take away from this post, I hope it's this: don't place your happiness within temporary objects, and never forget about those who are less fortunate than you.

I pray that we can all find true happiness, Ameen!

1. Place Prayers Around Your House.
Sometimes, all it takes is the right reminder at the right time. Try printing little prayer cards out, and placing them around your house. For example, an entering and leaving the house prayer on your front door, a going to sleep and waking up prayer on your dresser, a before and after eating prayer in your dining room and so on. This is not only a great way to teach your kids these prayers, but also a great reminder for parents as well as older children to read these prayers despite already knowing them.

  • Click Here for a set of 16 door knob dua cards ($4.95)
  • Click Here for free printable dua cards

  • If you want to go about it in a different format, you can download free printable pages of this Dua Book by clicking here.

2. Listen to the Audio of Knowledgeable Shows

Take a moment to think about your commute to work or school. How long is it? Maybe a 30 minute drive there and 30 minute drive back? Longer? If you think about this being a daily thing, that's a lot of time! Listening to something knowledgable and motivating during this time can really benefit you through the day and in the long the run. I suggest the following:

  • Faith Matters
  • Real Talk
  • Khutba/Sermon

Simple download one in the morning, or stream it live and listen to it in your car, on the bus etc. It will really help you be more motivated throughout the day!

3. Read a Prayer When You Wake Up

Start your day with prayers. Read a prayer on success or good health. Whatever you please! This is a great way to start the day positively and with the remembrance of Allah. The Treasure House of Prayers in one of my favourite books with prayers for everything possible. You can buy it here.

4. Set a Prayer as Your Wallpaper

We're all busy, I get it. It can be hard to take out the time to sit and memorize a prayer. A great way to go about doing this is by setting a prayer as the wallpaper on your phone or laptop. By doing this, you can read it whenever you come across it, and you'll have it memorized in no time!

5. Read Before You Sleep

We live in a time where we're all so obsessed with being connected to the world at all times. Trust me, I'm guilty of this as well! How many of us haven't turned off our laptop, only to go on our phone and spend another hour on that. Reading before we sleep is a great way to rest our eyes and put some good thoughts in our head before ending the day. If you haven't read my New Years Resolutions post, you can do that here. In it, I talk about reading a few pages of a book a day, in order to finish one book a month. I also give a list of great Islamic books to read!

I hope these 5 tips help you all out! And hopefully they help build us up spiritually!
